Marshall Hurley is an established Property Developer, who specialise in creating stunning homes in and around the London area. They had commissioned Earth Angels Landscapes to create a garden design for a property they had recently purchased in Ovington Square, Knightsbridge SW3. We has worked for the same client, Andrew Marshall, in a garden design and landscape project at this former family home, Carlowrie Castle Kirkliston Edinburgh.

They were in the process of converting their family home into an exclusive venue for Corporate Events and Weddings. In this project we provided garden design ideas for their extensive grounds, built new sandstone patio areas around the Orangery, renovated the cobbled courtyards, their lily ponds and other water features around the estate.

The location of this garden and the access to it was initially the most challenging aspect of the build. The garden was landlocked on all sides. The only access to the garden at the back was through an upper front window of the maisonette. The interior of Ovington Square was undergoing extensive renovation work, and when we arrived it looked like a bomb site.
Not to be put off we took a deep breath, and set out our plans to take this build forward.

Our garden design was based on creating an immediate focal point that could be seen as you walked into the lounge.

I designed a large slate and stainless steel water feature surrounded by a lush jungle feel to the garden. We built bespoke hardwood red cedar fences for the internal cladding, which complimented the surrounding high brick walls.

The deep planters were filled with phyllostachs aurea Bamboo, stipea arundinacea grass, mixed with Lirope muscari, and in between these shrubs we planted mixed sizes of Buxus semeprviren balls.

The rich colour of the blue grey granite granite paving and copes complimented the lush exotic feel of the planting. Stainless steel lights, provide a soft wash of warmth to this garden.
A final few words is to express our sincere thanks to the lovely Polish Builders involved in the interior renovation work, who stopped their own work and formed a human chain, to help with every one of our deliveries through the window. We could not have done it without you. Thanks!
